Zynga Stocks Fall As YoVille Players Protest Against Game Shutdown

A major financial news site announced that Zynga stocks dropped 6% today to 3.78$. What's interesting was that the article mentioned the YoVille shutdown and the protests held by players to save the game.

"Zynga announced on Friday through a post on its forums that it plans to shut down YoVille, its longest-running game, on March 31. Zynga is offering "special packages" to YoVille users who sign up for other Zynga games. YoVille players are upset enough to start a petition for the company to boycott all other Zynga games if the company does not keep YoVille. "

Protests to save YoVille continue and apparently they are being recognized by some major news sites.

Angry  YoVille players flooded the comments section of the article.

I represent thousands of players from YoVille who are on a serious mission to save the game. Not only will we boycott Zynga, they may just have a lawsuit on their hands for being deceptive to scam us out of more money by posting in their forums that "YoVille isn't going anywhere..." right up until the day of the announcement. Shame on Zynga. #saveyoville
