YoVille events have been a very important part of the game. Players use events to go to parties, meet new friends and shop for items. Unfortunately, players are not being to because the events feature has been disabled. This is what Zynga has to say about this issue:

We understand that a lot of you are eager to hear or get updates as to when you will be able to create/conduct events again in YoVille. Due to unforeseen technical issues with the said feature, we are currently reviewing this in depth. We will provide you additional updates soon.
